In the patients interest, we recommended that no more than two (2) persons visit at any one time. Children under twelve (12) years of age are not permitted to visit patients, except by special arrangement with the Nurse-In-Charge of the Wing.

Pastoral Visits
The Tony Thwaites Wing is a non-demoninational institution, and patients are encouraged to invite their clergy to visit them while they are hospitalized. Clergy may visit at any time with the permission of the Nurse-In-Charge.

Prior to admission, each patient is required to place a deposit with the Admissions Office. This deposit is estimated based on the expected length of stay, and in the case of a patient whose stay exceeds five (5) days, intermittent updates of the account will be prepared and presented to the persons responsible for the patients account.

All patients are to settle their accounts upon discharge.

A Special Note To Patients, Their Families & Friends
The staff of the Tony Thwaites know that you would like to do everything to help with the speedy recovery of your relative and/or friend. We on our part will do all we can to facilitate our patient's comfort and recovery to good health. However, your cooperation is needed in observing our visiting hours and the number of people visiting a patient at any one time.

Why are there special visiting hours and a limit to how many persons can visit a patient at any one time?

  • There are certain procedures that have to be carried out by the medical and nursing staff.
  • Before 10:00 a.m. most doctors mae their rounds, samples are taken for lab tests etc., and medications are administered.
  • After 12:00 p.m. noon lunch is served and many patients will not eat if they have visitors.
  • There is usually a medication round for some patients at 2:00 p.m.
  • 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. rest period is an important part of the patient's treatment, especially for a post-operative patient. Too many visitors in a room is tiring for the patient and also causes crowding in the room. If the room is shared, crowding can be disturbing to the other patient.
  • Visiting hours are relaxed for the relatives of the very ill patients. We ask however, that not more than two (2) people be with the patient at any time. Other members of the family and friends are asked to wait in the lobby.
  • Patients and their families are asked not to give monetary gratitudes directly to the ancillary staff of the Tony Thwaites Wing.
  • If you are desirous of showing your appreciation then we would as that monies be handed to the Admissions Office to be put in a fund for the staff.
  • your kind cooperation is appreciated.
